1. Did Bono snippet My Sweet Lord in the middle part of the instrumental bridge?!.
  2. Bono's getting a lot of stick on social media for this.
  3. He could’ve have brought Glen back to life and people would still say he did it for himself.

But reciting the lyrics to one of your own songs was maybe a little off piste.

I believe he was asked to read the lyrics by Glens family

Yep. He was asked by Hansard's family to recite the lyrics as said above. There are photos of the ceremony program that show the lyrics printed in it.

Unfortunately, social media amplifies all of the miserable, misguided, and unintelligent people's thoughts easily. And idiots tend to flock together online, so it makes their "opinions" seem more widespread than they actually are.
  6. Tell that to the Twitter/social media mob. They just want to hate Bono.

The spoken lyrics were nice but will absolutely be interpreted as self promotion by those neanderthals online.
  7. People will always hate on Bono. They have since 1982, it hasn’t stopped the band.

    Ignorance is bliss.
  8. I didn't hear it but I do think that his vocal from yesterday seems to remind me of the 2009 to 2011 versions of Beautiful Day from the 360 tour.
  9. trying to hate Bono is like counting the hairs on a testicle.
  10. Yes, definitely, I heard that - had my headphones on while watching. It was really moving seeing everybody singing like that.
