1. Anyone a fan? I've been listening to Rain In The Summertime and I love it!

I should really delve deeper into their catalogue at some point, especially since they're Welsh.

And, of course, they supported U2 on the War Tour.

One of my favorite bands ever... and I first heard/saw them opening for U2 on War. They are great and Mike Peters is a hero of mine. Check out his story and what he's endured.

He has carried on the Alarm and has done some brilliant work. He also holds an annual event in Wales called The Gathering where Alarm fans from around the world attend to celebrate the band.

Check out the movie 'Vinyl'. Its inspired by the true details of how Mike Peters pulled one of the biggest hoaxes in music history to prove a point to the industry.
  3. Yes, Mike has been through a lot. In fact, I thought I saw him on the train last week (it wasn't him, although it did kinda look like him).

I was watching a TV show last night called Wales In The Eighties and The Alarm was on it, Mike was talking about the Miners Strike and there was a clip of them performing A New South Wales, so I thought I'd go on Spotify and check out some of their songs.

Thanks Greg for the link! I'll take a look when I can! That Vinyl movie sounds interesting too.

God I love the guitar in Rain In The Summertime.
  4. The Alarm Great Band. I saw them several times live. I have a great deal of their catalogue
  5. Reading all of today's news has steered me towards The Alarm today.

  6. Just got tickets to see them here in Atlanta and in Athens in July... So psyched! U2 in June, The Alarm in July. Perfect summer.

First time I ever heard of The Alarm was seeing them open for U2 on War Tour. Since then, Mike Peters has become an icon, a legend, and a hero in my eyes...
