    40 kg is surely too much, it would be way lighter even if it was made of solid steel. But yeah, it is probably heavier than normal Les Paul and I bet the mirror cladding kills the wood resonance and has a huge impact on the general sound, so it probably doesn't sound very good.
    40lbs maybe? That would be just over 18kg.

    The Mirror Les Paul weighed around 15 kilograms.

    Old Les Pauls weigh about 5 and 6 kg, newer ones are more in the 4-4.5 range... So this Les Paul was truly in another league. Anything well over 6 kg is virtually unplayable for more than a couple of minutes. Doublenecks are usually 5.5 to 7 kgs and they're FREAKING HEAVY, you can't wait to take it off even before you've finished playing the damn Led Zeppelin or Guns n' Roses tune

    So yeah no wonder why he's never played that (gorgeous) thing.
