1. Inspired by him being part of U2's pre-show music this tour, I started to listen to some of his music and I really like it. The Shag Tobacco album is great, esp. "You, me and world war three" which is my favourite so far. Anyone else liking his music?

Absolutely ME! Have loved his releases since the end of The Virgin Prunes.
You are spot on regarding Shag Tobacco. When that came out it was like a breath of fresh air. Very cabaret and old Berlin.
If you have not found it yet I would highly recommend you get a copy of Catholic. It took a long time for him to release that album since he put out Shag Tobacco. It is well worth having. Hope you get to check out his back catalogue.
  3. Bono and the Edge both sing uncredited on Shag Tobacco as far as I know.
  4. Bono is credited. Edge played with Renaud Pion and Maurice Seezer on Little Black Dress.
People... go and check these albums out!

There it is. Little Black Dress is a great tune. GF also does a star turn in Breakfast on Pluto. Complete legend.
  6. I saw Gavin Friday perform in a little club up in NY back in the 90's, show was amazing!
  7. Saw him play in Utrecht and Amsterdam in the 90's, that was verry good. Love his first album. Great performer.

    My Twentieth Century!
  11. I used to think that Macphisto was Bono moving closer to a Gavin Friday state of mind. And now that i think of it, Shadowman and the new macphisto too. Shades of Friday all the way.
    Angel was really good.
  12. Gavin started working with Bono before the zootv tour, he's the one behind all characters Bono created.
