1. Do you think is good this song? Do you think it could be played live besides the Lovetown Tour?
  2. It would have fit in very well on this tour.
  3. God Part II would fit very well in every setlist, it's such a kick ass song!
  4. I disagree... God Part II is a very "innocence" song:

The context of that "I believe in Love" is the voice of an angry Bono fighting against the world. Nothing to do with the mature/experienced one singing Love is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way trying to include everybody in the "Us". It's a song when he sees "Us vs Them", instead of "there is no them, only us".

It also doesn't have the self criticism you can find in Acrobat or Staring at the Sun (or even The Troubles).
The closest we've got are SBS, which is transformed to a more mature dirge instead of a teenager angry song, and Bullet, which was transformed to reflect exactly the inner conflict between the innocence and experience.

So... while that's one of my favorite songs from R&H, I don't think it fits at all with the shows theme.
  5. It could have fit..there's still a chunk of "Innocence" in the theme and yeah..it's a cracker and could fit in any tour LOL. Screw the theme, drop American Soul for God Part II and rock it out ?

Agree with everything put here. Well said! Always enjoy your analyses.

Although, it maybe could fit in the RFD / ABOY / Gloria spot. That’s the only spot in the show where the “narrative” doesn’t necessarily flow.
  7. I want them to play God Pt II up until the first “I believe in love” and then let the drums segue into The Fly immediately
  8. awesome song
  9. Bono talking about rape in a song in 2018 will not happen. Love the song though!
  10. I think that they should play God Part II after American Soul in the eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018
  11. Haha, indeed. Plenty of other songs to choose from.
  12. Awesome song, on my bucket list of U2 songs I have not heard them play that I would love to hear, but I don't think it fits this tour. I may be a broken record but this is the song that Edge's guitar tech Dallas Schoo suggests and would like for them to play just about every tour. So there is hope, but they haven't done it even with someone close to them suggesting it. Odds are it will never be done again. But I would have said the same about Acrobat before this tour. So never say never, just unlikely unfortunately.
