    The version of Real Thing definitely has a backing track to it...Mofo had a backing track, Lights of Home is predominantly pre recorded with the strings, etc. Effects used to enhance or inform the song IMO.

    Always said that I would prefer this to having additional touring members on stage anyway.

  7. I watched that video the other night, where edge had to swap guitars and the guitar was somehow still playing! Or maybe the sound techs can mix in the bass or guitar at any point if there’s a problem, seeing there’s already a backing track anyway.
  9. Best out the 4 nights set wise. Worst crowd wise. The crowd on shows 3/4 were amazing.

    Also I noticed Bono wetn straight for the those oooooo things when love js biggere ended so the crowd would shut up. Dont get why he does let that go. Why sut people up. They like the song!

  11. Attended to 3 out of 4 show: red zone 11th and 16th, stand on the 12th. Standing in red zone, free of exiting in the parterre and following the band on B stage, was amazing. It was like a concert in a pub, so near to them. I've seen them 31 times, starting from Modena 1987. But I think these 3 nights in Milan will always remain in my heart. Band was so powerful and inspired, much more that JTT30. I was in fucking tears yesterday evening. Definitely the best tour after ZOO TV. There was definitely some magic in the air, and there was THAT intensity. You could feel WHERE the songs came from, tears and hope behind them. it was such a long time that I didn't feel THAT intensity. if anyone has any doubt about whether this band is still relevant or not, i think that this doubt was just washed away since the first note of The Blackout. You just think "U2 are in the house" and nothing else matters.
  12. Why would his guitar be pre-recorded?? His sound for lemon has been replicated by many people so it's not like it can't be played - I'll admit it does look a little strange cos there's no noise when he hits the strings but I recommend looking at Edo's (from Achtung Babies) Zoo TV Sounds video where he does it
