maybe there was a bit of sponsoring or something, but people still had to pay for their tickets and the shows grosssed over 1,5 million dollars.

Oh yeah I’m sure they did. I only meant to say that corporate connections got U2 to play there. Buffett invited them (and probably bought loads of tix for coworkers/friends) and the same goes for the casino.

even then you can argue if it's corporate connections or philantropic connections.
  4. Since we got word today about RSD 19, Europa, I wonder if any announcements will come soon. My Spidey sense still says March but it would be good to know if Australia is going to happen in 2019.
  5. Omaha was not Buffet related. Live Nation thought it would do well as a relatively ‘underserved’ Midwest market for U2. LN has seen solid success there with other classic rock acts in recent years - but it was still viewed as a ‘stretch’ market for U2. The ticket sales were a little disappointing but not entirely unexpected with neither a new hit album nor a reliance on a ‘greatest hits’ setlist.

I enjoyed Omaha quite immensely. Intimate vibe.
  7. Any new rumours floating around yet? Patience is not my virtue
  8. Me neither, and flights from UK to Oz still available below £400. Need to get this confirmed asap
  9. Could be waiting a few years before they tour again by all accounts a long break is on the cards.
  10. Oh right, I thought this was happening
  11. Australian tour now off the cards?
  12. Last I heard it's still going ahead but wouldn't be finalised and announced until after the holidays (xmas/new years) so we should hear something soon.
