Just look at that list of songs to chose from, unbelievably good. I have to go for Stay, my favourite song and I started to doubt I’d ever be lucky enough to hear it again live, they more than did it justice too.
From the list its definitely got to be Stay. I thought I would never ever hear that song. Landlady was amazing to hear as well. I always liked The Fly, NYD and EBTTRT, but this tour has made me truly appreciate them. I never appreciated Edges "Shines like a burning star" part in The Fly before. Im in love with the NYD intro now. The "Im fucking Bono" speech makes EBTTRT sound so much better.
"We took over this little hotel, that they call a riad, and set up the gear in the courtyard. So it was open, a square of sky over our heads. You can hear the call to prayer, birds flying around. Two swallows came back regularly to shit on Larry's drums."
- Bono describes the album sessions in Fez, Morocco in the summer of 2007.
did you know
Starting life as two seperate demos, 'Ultra Violet' and '69', later evolving into 'Lady With The Spinning Head', The Edge improvised a riff that the rest of the band worked with. With said riff, 'One' was born, ultimately changing the outlook of the sessions and more importantly, keeping the band together.
