1. Thought this could be a fiery fun topic! What are the U2 songs that you just don't get the fuss over. We all have ones that we love for one reason or the other, but we also have ones that just don't resonate with us. It doesn't make them bad songs; they're just not for us.

I'll throw mine out - in Chronological Order - and a quick statement of why

Miami - saw it live on PopMart Toronto, was okay, just maybe that it's surrounded by much better songs on the album
Moment Of Surrender - though it has grown on me, I know people who go absolutely crazy for this song, and when I first heard it it was kind of a yawn fest. Never quite recovered.
I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Live Version) - Don't know why they wouldn't perform it as per the album - I think they did maybe a few times. More specifically, I feel the album version is pure U2, and should have been the lead single. Not that "other" song
Ordinary Love - maybe it was the seemingly over saturation about Nelson Mandela at the time, but I never understood the affection this song has. I even got the RSD 10", and I think I've only played it once.
Volcano - honestly felt like a lazy song.
Sleep Like A Baby Tonight - could have been swapped out for Crystal Ballroom or Lucifer's Hand as an official album track (not just the Deluxe)
This Is Where You Can Reach Me Now - I think it's the awkward falsetto that mostly puts this one to bed for me.
American Soul - a.k.a. Volcano Part 2 - see Volcano
Red Flag Day - It feels disjointed & doesn't flow well from vs to chorus

Bring on the villagers, torches & pitch forks!
  2. For me the first song that comes to mind is Drowning Man. I like it but I don’t care that it hasn’t been performed live and there are a million other songs I’d prefer to hear instead.
  3. Cedarwood Road, if i never heard it again it wouldn't bother me, i wouldn't skip it on the album, just couldn't care less if it was not in the live set going forward
  4. I’ve never really been able to fully enjoy desire. I wouldn’t call it a bad song but I think it’s very average for u2 standards and I just can’t get excited about it. Not amongst there worst songs but I feel it fits the criteria of this thread best for me.
  5. Dirty Day.
  6. I Will Follow. Don’t care for it at all.
  7. I got the same with Out Of Control... not a bad song but nothing special...
  8. Ultraviolet, cannot really say why
  9. I reckon I could make a cracking little mini set out of some of the choices so far. To my liking at least.
  10. "Red Flag Day' so good they dropped it from the setlist, I never got the big fuss made about it also I think the band felt that way about it as it was never a permanent song on the E&I tour ,it has potential but it's missing something probably a big guitar solo.
