1. Weird one here, but I'm interested in any proof (quote or pictures) of Bono (or any of the 4 for that matter) commenting on/or meeting a few musical artists that are alot more "angry and abrasive" than U2's style of music - specifically Eminem, Marilyn Manson, Insane Clown Posse, Trent Reznor, Korn.

I know there is a report (no pics that Ive seen) of an Award Show in Dublin where Iggy Pop was performing at the after-party, and apparently Bono drunkenly hopped up on stage to join him singing, and then Manson also hopped up, so it was 2 cover songs performed by the 3 of them together....

There's at least 1or 2 pictures I've seen of Bono sitting next to Trent having drinks at another after-party type setting (Elevation era) where they both have a drink their hand (Guinness in Bono's I believe). But dont know many more details about them meeting? (B+E have talked about listening to Pretty Hate Machine album as influence back in early AB days, and of course Trent ended up remixing a Vertigo track, and doing an Achtung Baby track for later cover album)

A possible link to Eminem would be thru Dr Dre (who Bono had been pictured meeting, and even vacationed together) and Jimmy Iovine -who both have close connection as the ones to give Eminem his big break. Surely, Em's been discussed. Especially back in the 2000 era when Eminem was topping the charts, and U2 were talking about wanting to beat out what was played on the radio.

Never heard Korn referenced, but again, during 1999ish Korn was huge and U2 was fighting to beat what was on the radio.

Never heard a reference to ICP, but the possible link would be that ICP was briefly on Island Records (before being fired) somewhere back around '96-99ish i think, so with U2 so heavily invested into % ownership of Island, I wonder if ICP came to their attention at all.
  2. Were Insane Clown Posse ever relevant... lol
  3. I think this was pretty abrasive but it might not be what you're after
