Denis Sheehan is very near Bono when he returns to the stage after his foray into the crowd he could have given him a signal off camera to finish also just when he starts singing Ruby Tuesday he looks back towards the stage and nods his head to someone like he's been given a signal that time waa up.

For me,that nod and eye contact is to Larry to go quieter on the drums, then as planned when sings Ruby Tuesday Larry is to do the big ‘crash’ on the snare as usual.

Nope,I’m convinced he was aware that the traffic light system used on the stage throughout the gig had gone red which was the indication to get off stage. As Harvey Goldsmith said ‘..I don’t care what time you go on,I just care about what time you come off..’ But it would be good to get an official reason as to when he knew to get his towel, wave & walk off while the band still played.

  2. It was, wasn't it. While I wasn't there, I still have my t-shirt from Australia's contribution to the fund raising - Oz For Africa. It happened on the Friday night before and two tracks from the INXS performance appear on the DVD and streamed recording.

Geldof was probably jumping up and down at the side of the stage telling them to finish up🤣 but yeah they were well aware of the traffic light system and knew that they wouldn't get to do another song, U2 were quite well established at this stage so they knew how to get messages to the each other onstage without the audience knowing ,apparently Bono does certain movements with his mic stand to the crew and band sort of like Morse code if he needs to communicate with them about onstage issues etc and the rest of the band do certain movements and gestures aswell that most people wouldn't pick up on.
  4. Well done you think Sunday Bloody Sunday was a good choice? I thought they missed a trick with New Year's Day but Sunday was quite a statement song and pretty powerful when watching the other night and was always a great song live.
