1. So here I am, listening Helsinki 1997-08-09 IEM, I love those iem raw feeds, and thinking if U2 will ever start to officially release its live career.
  2. No.
  3. Also, Pop live was mostly a disaster due to Bono's voice which was consistently crap during most of the Popmart tour. I wished Bono had had his 1992 voice in 1997. That would have been an incredibly better tour than it was
  4. I am in two minds with iem without great mix audience in the mix
I need to feel the audience to blow my ears
  5. I used to love listening to POPMART IEMs on my discman in the 90’s for example Nuremberg. They do highlight how crap is voice was though but great shows nonetheless.
  6. Isn’t Nuremberg the one where both Bono and Edge were sick, and both their voices were shot? Usually if Bono has an off night he has Edge to back him up. Not the case at that show, if it’s the one I’m thinking of.

But with so many great bootlegs why would any fan need them to?
Not sure I'd care if there was a perfect audio to every single U2 gig available,I suppose I'm a bit old school and find the charm in an audience recorded gig anyway, now I would think different if you were talking video recordings.

yeah, 1992 voice would make any tour better. How I wish Bono nowadays could still sing like his better '97 moments...
  9. I wouldn't exchange Bono's vocals in 2019 for his 1997 standard, but I do agree that the (few) good nights he had in 97 and 98 were better than the 2012-2020 average.

That being said, Pop is still an incredible album and Popmart is still a fantastic production & show concept. It's just that the band weren't up to par with them, sadly.
  10. Some artists they have already released so many shows. And those shows were really looked after, and they have used great mixing engineers to do that, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen (Bob Clearmountain mixing some of those), Pearl Jam, etc. We'll see, hopefully, at least one single show from every Tour, anyway.

True that a raw iem feed seems cold, but I just love Edge's guitar sound, crystal clear, and you can hear the mistakes here and there.

    Thanks!
