    Thanks for the kind comments! The shimmer was done in post using Logic Pro, my Digitech pedal can’t do that hahaha. I’ll defo be checking out that thread!

    Haha I feel you. I've been shimmer-less for many years and when I finally got a dedicated pedal for it it changed my life. Now I play almost everything with shimmer It's such an addicting effect. What's your Digitech pedal btw?

    It’s a Digitech RP355 which I’ve had for 9 years, so I need an upgrade. Which shimmer pedal do you use? Yeah, the shimmer is a great sound!

    The RP355 was and is a very powerful unit, I wouldn't be in any hurry to upgrade it. Of course there are much better options out there but when you have such a deep understanding and skill with a multiFX doing the switch to a new one can be very very frustrating. These things have such steep learning curves. I gave up on them and now I only use standalone pedals, much easier for a lazy ass like me who can't be arsed to spend hours searching for specific tones

    @miryclay I got myself a cheap Behringer RV600 which does the trick pretty easily. I've only used it for shimmer, literally, so I can't tell if any of its reverbs are any usable... But the shimmer is great for such a cheap unit. I think it's discontinued though. The closest equivalent would be the Boss RV6 but it's literally 10 times the price I paid for the Behringer lol (140 € vs 15 €)

    I was considering the Boss RV6 a few years ago but wouldn’t have worked in the signal path as I connect my headphones to my RP355. You’re right about the unit, I got so much out of it. Over time I just wanted more sounds from it though. Also the software is no longer supported and doesn’t work on my laptop anymore . Yeah using a new multi FX pedal would defo have a steep learning curve.

    If you eventually do the shift to a newer multiFX unit I'd recommend you to drop by the Facebook U2 Guitarists group (assuming you do have a facebook account lol). There are the most knowledgeable Edge-wannabees around, super valuable info for toke-seekers like you
