1. Pretty excited about that venue. Reminds me of The Globe, at much larger scale. As they are building a second one in London, the band might play there as well some time.
  2. I doubt it will be a big residency like the normal Vegas acts do. It will probably be a 4-6 night stay scattered across the NA leg of the tour.

  3. 4-D technologies ?
What like time travel - could be used to take everyone back to 1992 and give them the Achtung Baby show that is often hoped for.

I wonder if maybe they’re planning 2 NA legs and that’s why the dates are spread out over months. With all the recent rumors of them only wanting to do a new music tour, I really can’t comprehend a vegas residency. Makes more sense that someone got ahead of themselves and published a not so accurate article.
  5. What are past Vegas residencies like from other music artists? Did performers like Britney, Celine, etc promote new albums or just do a “hits” show?
  6. I doubt it will be a “residency”. More like a handful of shows by a big name band to showcase this new at state of the art venue. They’ll have a full schedule of pretty much every available artist lined up to Hit the ground running with this place.

No more than 5-6 shows, mixed in with the rest of the North American tour.
  7. I think it'll be for ZOO TV anniversary shows.

Usually hits since artists doing residencies are mostly retired from long touring. It’s a way for them to get back into doing shows over several months without the hassle of traveling and moving equipment and/or new music. And also a cash grab for the casino.

Some artists do it for as short as 3 months. Others do it for a whole year.
  9. Morrissey just did one.

Sting too, it’s not like they are there living there for a year
  10. Yeah but it also keeps them relatively close if they have shows every week. They’ll stay in LA and fly out for their shows.
  11. Lady Gaga did a residency last year in Las Vegas and is reported to be doing more at the end of this year; plus Adele is also rumoured to be rescheduling her residency at the end of this year, so it’s not just the faded stars that do this.
