    Not sure how you're getting to these conclusions from Rapino saying that Bono was adamant about the band performing at the Sphere. At some point, they would have signed a contract with MSG Entertainment / Sphere Entertainment, to which they would have been obligated to perform. Without knowing any clauses that would have been in their contract to cover absences or rescheduling, there's no way to know for certain. But these Rapino quotes don't tell us anything new about this.
  3. I thought the band had signed on, including Larry, then they realized Larry required surgery? Don't forget these shows were originally meant for 2021 but constructions delays pushed it back.

    Yes, it was delayed before the final results of the election were known. But even in August they would have had some idea how the election was possibly going...and some shock that things looked as close as it did.


    Interesting. I imagine the plan was probably to do E+I in 2017 then? I had always wondered why they did those one-off shows in 2016, but it makes sense now. I remember Dreamforce in particular being a really great show and setlist

    Maybe. Either this was a genuine leak of a potential date or just a test...

  7. Yeah that happened when they were taking the dates out of their system. When they were deleting them, this one was accidentally made public.
