1. On live version historically they leave out the verse

“ Our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
    Blown by the wind
    Oh, and I see love
See our love turn to rust
Oh, we're beaten and blown by the wind
    Blown by the wind”

In my opinion is the most powerful part of the song

Instead of it they add the “Love love love only love”, that’s also great but could be an extra part not a replacement.

Is there any oficial answer for it or version which they played it besides the Los Angeles Video?
  2. I also consider that perhaps the most powerful part of the song. As much as I hated the Flood remix of the song, I loved hearing another take on it, with Bono wailing “StaaaaAAAyyyy” through there.

It’s odd they don’t play it live, but the section they’ve historically played in its place is at least as effective in my opinion - or rather it was, till Bono started shouting “Love love love” over it. That has kinda ruined it for me.
  3. So so good that part of the song. You get that glorious intro which kicks on with the bass and drums then two thirds through it just kicks again and keeps on driving with Adam and Larry. An utterly infectious and addictive song.
  4. what tour version do you all prefer. Gotta say, as good as the Zoo version from Running to Stand Still into it, the Popmart Please>Streets with the little reprise at the end may be my favorite. Just sayin'.
  5. Actually the 360 version might be my favorite.

    This.
  7. Love the Popmart cosmic dance version with the 2001-style screen animation and the reprise at the end. As imperfect as that tour was, Streets are a great moment no matter which boot you listen to.

The Zoo TV Running-Streets transition is great, but many performances of this song on that tour seem a bit "tired" to me, or maybe slightly distanced, as Streets were never the best encapsulation of what Zoo TV was all about. While the Popmart performances encapsulate "the spirit of Popmart" perfectly.

As far as I know, that extra verse -which we all agree is amazing and takes the song to a different level- has never appeared live apart from the LA Liquor Rooftop gig Even from the very beggining of the JT tour they switched to the single, last-verse-less version of the song, which is what they clearly had intended to play live from the very beggining.

You can even tell that, in the Rooftop gig, they're quite dubious and halting when it comes to the bridge, like doubting between which version to play. And the same thing happened (but the other way round) in the first concerts of the tour: on Tempe 1, they didn't do the palm mute bridge right before (and they fucked up the song ending lol) and on Tempe 2 Edge didn't palm mute while the rest of the band did

Hear the Rooftop bridges at 12:30 , 22:14 and 26:37:

    Great point

I am also thinking that maybe it forces too much the Bono's voice, but its only my guess
  10. also funny hahaha they're really lost
  11. Best Segment involving Streets, IMO, is from I&E - October > Bullet > Zooropa > Streets will never be beat as far as Im concerned.
