That show was incredible, 10/10. Was just right of center.
Adam nodded at me at the beginning (The Fly or Even Better); which was neat. I lost track of how many times the band members made eye-contact with me. I watched Bono (he spoke w/o mic) exclaim to Adam how great of a show this was, at the very end. (Then again I'm not a lip reader, that's just what it looked like).
One of the techs (Bono's I think? Bald white guy) was testing out the rotating stage (by standing on it-- there was a small team doing a repair), and he kept joking to us in the front/sides that we should be throwing dollars at him (like if he were a pole dancer). Cool guy.
I screamed the lyrics to every song; and I feel exhausted now. I'm glad to have listened to some boots beforehand, to anticipate some of the snippets.
Speaking of which: my gosh was that exciting to hear Personal Jesus snippeted. Many of the people in the crowd were wearing DM shirts (and many were singing along to Just Can't Get Enough during the DJ set.
And what a crowd that was-- leagues above the 10/08 one. There was even a full on MacPhisto cosplayer on the first level.
I don't know what (modern) show can top that. Incredible.
Back to the hotel after a drink out after the show…which was fantastic. All of the AB songs sounded great, Bram was excellent, and the visuals were just amazing, enhanced by having a break where they “put the Baby to bed” midway through the show for those 4 songs. The end of The Fly and WOWY were jaw-dropping in particular for what that screen can do.
I also loved how there was a hopeful message that was interwoven throughout the show, especially by the end, without Bono needing to preach too much. The music and visuals accompanying it said it all.
Wish I had the time and money to see it again but heading back home tomorrow. A fun weekend here.
