  1. It was all planned out in advance and he knew it was happening. Not sure why he’d be pissed off. He could have easily said no.
  2. Of course he leaves early, to avoid being approached too much and avoid "traffic" when leaving at the same time as all of the audience.
    Maybe he awaited the band backstage when they came off stage?

    Just like the band who go straight into their cars after the show.
