I haven’t counted Chile out yet for the first leg.
Not at all. It’s the most overplayed song in their catalogue. I’d be perfectly happy to not hear it ever again. Silencio will be a perfect replacement.
I’d be happy if they skipped elevation, beautiful day and vertigo. But the fact of the matter is they really do go over well live, and they’re the songs from the post 2000 era that have the most staying power. They’re not going anywhere.
It seems that everything has been different this time around, from the guarding of the tour itinerary, as Wanderer has confided, to the way they've approached the surprise releases of Days of Ash and Easter Lily, and the shows at Mount Temple and Bewleys. So who knows - anything could happen!
Not sure if this has already been posted, but when Larry talked about the use of drum machines on the EPs in the Rolling Stone article - perhaps they'll utilise a drum machine on the tour for those tracks to give him a break during the show, instead of an acoustic segment with Bono and Edge?
