1. It's effectively what they did with the U2com presales for Bono's last book tour dates and the Sphere shows. Pick the dates you'd like to be considered for. So yeah, I'd expect U2 to use something similar going forward if it's what the industry is still using when it comes around to selling their own tickets.
  2. That approach left a bitter taste in my mouth when the TM verified process blocked me from registering in the fan club presale. Back in the days of bricks and mortar outlets and physical tickets you knew there was a chance tickets could sell out before it was your turn to buy. But this new approach is the equivalent of joining a crowd (not an orderly queue) hoping that you'll be selected at random to join a queue hoping there'll be tickets within your budget. That's nuts and wrong.
  3. And it appears once your TM acct has been deemed Un-verified, it is marked to stay that way forever, no matter who the artist is.

Despite being a Propaganda/U2.com member every year uninterrupted since 1999 (TM doesn't recognize or care about this), not only have I never been been Verified for U2 EVER, but no matter who the artist is I've tried for, Bruce, Pearl Jam, Taylor (i have little girls), etc, I have NEVER once been verified.

I don't know what I did to be marked as this. I don't buy/re-sell tickets, but it's very clear if they bothered to check my TM acct order history that I am a legit fan (over 70 U2 ticket purchases on that TM acct over last 25 yrs) -should that not be one of the MAIN things TM can check within their own database to determine if an acct should be verified as a fan??!!
  4. Don't get me worried about ticket sales when they haven't even been announced yet.

The previous way of U2.com members getting first access wasn't perfect but I never had issues. So far...
  5. Following on from other threads

Rumours from U2’s crew suggested the band was initially hoping for a 2024 release, with a tour to follow in 2025. At this point, this does not seem likely, with the album still under development. U2 typically has multiple itineraries in place, and any dates on hold at this point seem to hinge on the completion and release of an album.

  6. I suspect with the HTDAAB anniversary release, etc that the band are also allowing more time for Larry to be fit for the next tour whenever that happens.
  7. Did somebody attend/watch stream of Gavin Friday's album signing at Tower Records today? We have some rumours flying on Facebook him saying U2 tour next year... Can somebody confirm?

Hmm, I can't find any audio or video of the interview online. Hopefully some will be uploaded soon. As much as I'd love to get excited about this possibility, it seems unlikely for him to say something like that before U2 announce it officially themselves, and also at an event celebrating his own work. Have they speculated whether it was something he said during the interview with Pat Carty, or was it said informally to a fan during a personal conversation?

I spoke to multiple people at the event. All confirmed nothing was said about U2 touring from the stage. At least not anything that registered with the people there. I'm guessing something was misheard.

At one point Gavin talked about touring next year. That was the only tour talk...(i.e. Gavin touring, not U2.)
