1. probably they remaster the 80's singles for streaming services

the last hope it's Adam talking about "the future" this week
  3. What happened to the band that was intent on remaining relevant? Not releasing a studio album for 8 years and reissuing older material is only going to increase their irrelevance. I know Larry's health hasn't helped but it's been nearly two years and he was seen recently with a wrist splint, so he's still not "fixed". The next phase will need to eclipse the Elvis Comeback!

  4. Maybe focus on the streaming offerings. Bono’s Surrender film.
  5. A single /EP of new songs.

  6. Is this something confirmed by sources or just what it sounds like from the resent Adam /Edge interview? Is also tour next year out of question at this point? Tour crew released, etc?
IMO nobody cares about a new U2 album in general, fans want to hear rarities, general public hits. Maybe small amount of fans want a new music...
  7. Why not tour? Just do Europe in summer and latin America after. Play some of the new songs and see how it’s recieved by fans. Would be great

They're not going to be talking up a new album and tour when they're promoting Atomic Bomb reissue as it will take all the headlines, these guys are pros at marketing and know that the media will jump on anything substantial they say about future plans etc .When Bono threw out that quote about wanting the next album to sound like ACDC every major media outlet ran with it so they know how to get publicity either positive or negative.
  9. I'd much rather they tour when the new album is out. The tours they did without new music to promote just lack a certain energy and excitement on their part, the uncertainty of taking new songs on the road, not knowing how they will be received. I also prefer the new music to drive the design of the show itself (and the setlist - which songs from the back catalogue will be the best fit for the new stuff). They seemed so bored during The Joshua Tree Tour 2017, often just going through the motions. The Sphere residency was better energy-wise, but the novelty of the venue must have contributed to that. And the long break in touring since 2019.

I’m in the small amount of fans then. If it was a choice between no tours or no new material I’d easily pick no tours. The only reason I want to see the band again is hearing the new material live. I will be very surprised if they are able to play a song from the past to its highest level again.
  11. “Live is where we live”
  12. That statement only had any weight to it when they were performing most of their songs to a higher or similar standard to the album versions and brought an incredible energy to their shows. That’s not the case anymore.
