1. Songs of Ascent isn't finished either. Bono's admitted that. And I suspect it's being held as a farewell album for when the band does call it quits. So I'm in no rush to get it, if that is the case.

Sphere? We're a couple of months away from them having to announce a new fan club gift. I suspect that may end up being related to Sphere.

  2. I agree that it would be great if we got something in the first quarter or half of 2025.

Re-assemble is great but lets keep going. I actually would not prefer Sphere audio. 'Too close' says miryclay.
  3. I don’t know if it’s just me but here’s what my plan would be. HTDAAB Anniversary Tour next year. I know it sounds ridiculous but it’s one of my favorite albums and I would love to hear some of the rarer songs played. So they do a tour summer of 2025 if Larry is able to and then they release the new album in December and do that tour in 2026. Everyone would be happy then, 2 tours in 2 years and also new album!

What you're suggesting would be a dream. I'd prefer Achtung Baby to HTDAAB though, I think it's really a crime that that one was played in full just in LV... All world deserves to hear it...

    Sounds good to me!
  6. Definitely not.
  7. My hope is for the band not to do any tours or residencies until there’s a new album out. Even if it was 5 years away (which I’m sure it won’t be) I’d rather that than an anniversary or greatest hits tour. One off shows would suffice to celebrate albums or anniversaries in the future.
  8. No desire to have another 'album-centric' tour. Joshua Tree in 2017, 2019, and Achtung Baby in 2011, 2018, and 2023 - 2024 has been enough. (The latter part of those 2011 and 2018 tours felt like an AB tour in a lot of ways.) Both the Sphere shows and The Joshua Tree tour probably would have benefited from having a bit more freedom to leave a few songs out.

And if they had to do it, I'd pick any album over "Atomic Bomb". Really not a favourite of mine, and I just don't think most of the songs work that well live. And those that do work we get frequently anyway. "Vertigo" and "COBL" show up often, "ABOY" was around in 2018.

And in the general public are these songs going to bring them in? You could see the energy just die when the band got to the lesser known tracks of Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby. Is "A Man and a Woman", "Crumbs from Your Table" and "One Step Closer" going to get the fans in the door?

My hope is that band waits until there is a new album out. Yes, it sucks to wait, but I'd rather see something new than another anniversary tour, so more than willing to wait it out. If the album is done for next Fall they'll be on the road the following year.

    +1
  10. A few selected cities for AB30... But other than that no album tours
  11. If it is 2026 for the next tour, that’ll be their 50th anniversary, so hopefully it will be quite the spectacle.
  12. That was the plan for 2017 but Live Nation probably saw how much money could be made
