Or they could do a tour like The Rolling Stones on their Licks tour, 3 venues in the same city, club show, arena show, stadium show
I don’t know what spreading out tour dates or shortening a show or playing different venues would have to do with ‘ back in some capacity’ though. I think he would just say it was going to be a more spaced out schedule or shorter shows if that was all he was meaning or playing a variety of venues. I don’t think we’ll get a u2 show again with Larry playing drums for the majority of it.
  2. Is the "But I’m excited to get back in some capacity" not referring to “I don’t think it will be what we normally do. I would hope it would be something different”

So he's saying whether it's a normal arena concert, or something different, he's just excited to be back in any way?

    Shorter setlists?

It can also mean touring extensively in Eastern Europe without too much visuals

But yeah why to think anything positive at all, since 2019 tour finished everything in the world went south

I just can’t put the 2 together. What do the band normally do? The venue sizes and types of show have varied so there is no normal in that respect. To me the only thing that was consistent is the 4 of them playing together. That’s the only thing I could really see his comment relating to the playing side. Especially with the ‘some capacity’ words. That’s widely used to talk about your role reducing or changing.

Them 4 playing together stopped 1,5 year ago
  6. I'm not reading too much into his quote. He didn't say he'd be wheeled out in a wheelchair to tap on a drum pad LOL. He could just be expressing gratitude at the fact that he'll be getting back into it at all in the (somewhat) near future after being unable to for so long. Time will tell
  7. Yes but you wouldn’t describe a normal u2 line up as not including Larry so it’s still normal for the 4 of them to play together especially when he talks about ‘we’ in the article. So thats the only normal thing I can see changing is how they play together.

  8. "In some capacity" means in most cases a reduced role well that's the way I'm reading it ,I get the guy isn't probably capable of doing a full world tour and maybe Bono isn't either due to his health issues, If you look at the past few tours they were a lot more scaled down compared to previous ones the last proper tour was 360 which was 13 years ago, so who knows what lies ahead an unplugged scaled down approach may be what they are thinking with a select few venues and countries .

Yeah. I think he means a more stripped down show compared to their stadium shows and, probably, the Sphere gigs
  10. A stripped down stage with lower ticket prices...
  11. What if they tour with 2 drummers, Larry and Bram? They could have a section of the show with Bram on drums, them some sort of an intermission, then Larry would play during the 30-45 minutes climax of the show, then both would come back for the encore with Larry in limited capacity, but ending the show solo with "40". If done properly, this could actually be interesting - Larry would actually be the payoff of the show.
  12. if larry says it’s ok to hace two drummers, that’s ok, he’s the boss
