1. Not with that kind of technology trey're not.
  2. Interesting that the Radio presenter asked him that maybe he heard something within the office as U2 have made a lot of connections with various people in RTE down through the years ,A "50th Anniversary Tour" would be a good marketing ploy.and I'm sure Live Nation would be throwing that idea at them as it would sell a lot more tickets as opposed to promoting a new album 🤔
  3. Yeah, I really think they were ordered just not to say anything until it's more or less confirmed, album ready, tour booked, etc. After last year when he said there would be a Europe tour in 2025 and nothing happened...
  4. We need to play Adam whisperer here, as I believe that he is more reliable than The Edge or Bono in terms of what we can conclude.

“We are not particularly going to celebrate it though, but these things are very hard to predict”…

Sounds similar to what was said about playing without Larry. Sounds similar to what was said around JT17 tour. He left plenty of room there for an anniversary tour.

“Whilst we might not be able to align an album or a tour to celebrate that moment…”

“We might not” implies it has been suggested and it’s not unreasonable to think that Live Nation have pushed for that.

So what we can read is an anniversary celebration has been suggested but they are not yet able to commit due to uncertainty and unwillingness around setting a deadline for the new record.

My prediction - either A) new record postponed whilst we do a few limited U250 shows (turns into world tour) with one or two new songs road tested or B) they miraculously finish the record and the tour is billed as showcasing the new record AND fifty years together to push sales.

I wonder has Larry been told to hold off touring for a while yeah Adam said he was back behind the kit but playing 2 hour gigs is a completely different proposition to been in the studio where he can take long breaks etc ,with the amount of surgery he has supposed to have had done he could have been advised not to tour for 2 years and for a guy of his age the recovery period is going to take longer, It's gotta be a major reason that they are stalling touring and releasing new music .

I was uninterested for a long time after Charlie died and I skipped their 2022 European tour but with rumours of the now cancelled 2025 European tour I was looking forward to maybe going to some shows. My interest has waned again now there's no tour. I would be happy with my last show being in 2019 with Charlie.

Honestly the last time the stones sounded great live was 20 years ago…. I’d say that is the bar … this next tour for U2, for mine, will be the last where they still sound great live (which would equate to the Voodoo Lounge Tour for the stones) thus I think it might be U2’s final BIG international tour. I think they will very selectively play live after that which would put them somewhere around 2028/29.

They aren't stalling on releasing new music. They don't have an album complete that they feel is ready to release. When they have the album done they will release it, and they'll likely talk about the delays they hit along the way as part of the promo. They seem to be waiting to go out live until they get to that point.

They aren't going out in Summer 2026 in my opinion. They'd have to be organizing that now, and they aren't. Already stadiums in Europe are booked out for next summer, and U2 have not made any moves in that direction, nor have they told staff to start. I'd take Adam at his word here. They are going to work up until later this year, and make the decisions once they see where they are.
  9. This kind of scenario really sounds like the end, at least for people like me. If there is a possibility of a tour earliest in 2027 they will probably tour Monaco bars for a handful of oligarchs
And if there really is no tour in 2026 I would very much like to request a refund for the U2 membership as it seems already 2nd year in row I gave them money for nothing...

Of course they are stalling they haven't released an album proper since 2017 yes we know what's happened in-between ,Edge said they've loads of material ready but the problem is deciding which songs make the cut they could decide that over a weekend if they were under pressure to get one out and then going to the media 6 months ago saying it's gonna be 2 years before they tour or release an album is really a deliberate delay tactic IMO.

Tickets via the fan club are never a guarantee.

The band didn't tour in 2007, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2020, 2021. There were no ticket offers in those years to be had via the fan club either. They won't issue a refund because the band isn't touring. "First access to ticket presales, when the band announce tour dates."

Yes, but where is my gift for 2024? Yeah I know, nobody received it yet, that's why I'm saying I'd like the refund as I gave them money for nothing and this year doesn't look any better...
I'm just extremely disappointed that probably I won't see my favourite band anymore. I don't understand why they are delaying touring for some new album that nobody besides about 5 hard core fans cares about anyway...
