1. +60% a tour to forget . 99% of those voting here won't have been at the shows.
  2. +60% a tour to forget . 99% of those voting here won't have been at the shows

    And why is that?

Who was/wasn't able to attend these shows?

    But also, so what?

I was too young for the War tour and the Unforgettable Fire tour, but there's no way I would vote them "tours to forget."
  3. So what you’re saying is you need to be bias as an attendee to actually enjoy it? Of course people from all eras enjoy tours they weren’t /couldn’t be a part of so it’s obviously more than just ‘not being there’ that makes people dislike the sphere shows. If you judge them properly you will see they fall way below the standard of an average u2 show.
  4. I've never been to a U2 show I didn't like. Even an average show isn't a bad thing. Some shows are less memorable in that I don't have any stand out songs or moments, but there's never been anything close to being a show to forget.
  5. Top 3..

    1 Zoo tv
    2 U2 UV
    3 Joshua tree 17

Perhaps some fans value the authentic sound of the band more than others. Once you take that away it becomes unmemorable, forgettable. There’s probably a lot of fans who don’t listen to the u2 minus one performance either. Unless the visuals are the absolute be all and end all for you then why watch/listen to a sphere performance when you can stick on the same song from several different eras that do include all 4 band members? Peace on earth and so cruel are the only songs I’ll visit again in future because there isn’t alternative full live versions to turn to.

Did you go? Or basing your assumption on some mixes, YouTube and the odd IEM
  8. No I had zero interest in attending once I knew Larry wouldn’t be there. I’ve listened to enough though to realise what I suspected that Bram was never going to sound like Larry. It stands out like a sore thumb. I know a lot of fans wouldn’t have attended or listened if Bono wasn’t singing. Some will argue drummers are more easily replaced but when you’ve listened to and know the songs like I do I can’t agree with that. I only want to hear Larry play drums for u2, that’s the only way the songs can sound authentic. That doesn’t mean other fans are wrong for being able to enjoy the songs with Bram, we all hear and enjoy things differently.

    Fair and honest take.
  10. I hope and truly want Larry to return.
    Let’s be 100% realistic though

A man in his early 60s
    Very intense muscular skeletal surgery

Album work seems realistic later down the line

3-5 nights a week drumming for 2+ hours on a tour schedule?
Even with the best surgeons and physios that is a stretch and Larry himself may have to concede based on comfort in his non U2 life

I truly hope I’m wrong, but as a 52 yr old man with current joint fracture recovery I’m not sure it’s realistic
  11. Maybe 1 day gap inbetween shows when Larry comes back.
