This would be my best guess as well.
  2. I Will Follow
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Bad
    Side A of Joshua Tree
    All I Want is You
    The Entirety of Achtung Baby
    Stay
    Mofo
    Please (especially live)
    Wake Up Dead Man
    Beautiful Day
    Kite

Has anything since been on that level?

Every Breaking Wave, perhaps. And I’d add Miss Sarajevo to the list, one of the best songs U2 ever made.

Also, if you say entire Achtung Baby, well, U2 has made quite a few better songs than So Cruel after 2000.
  4. Love is Blindness
    Acrobat
    The Fly
    Lemon
    With or Without You
    Running to Stand Still
    Bullet the Blue Sky
    New Year’s Day
    The Unforgettable Fire
    Please

Agree on Miss Sarajevo. Always a question if that is U2 or Passengers? Probably a moot point since Eno had a lot to do with most of their best work.

Disagree strongly on So Cruel. I might concede Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World as not top-tier.

I have never connected with EBW. What it lacks for me, compared to their best work, is something sonically daring/interesting that works in concert with the lyrics/vocals to express what can't be expressed verbally.
  6. I think Bad is the greatest U2 song.
  7. .Bad
.Where The Streets Have No Name
    .One
    .Ultra Violet (Light My Way)
  8. An excellent short list of songs.
I’d argue for WOWY, AIWIY, or Stay for the 5th spot. Of course, there’s bias there!
