1. U2 is releasing a HTDAAB 20-Year Anniversary Box Set. They usually have live material in the box sets. In this Google Form, I listed some of the top shows from the Vertigo Tour. You guys can vote on which one you would want in the box set. If the one you want is not there, you can choose another and put the show in it. I think this will be fun! I will show the results after some responses come in!

  2. Someone on the U2 Reddit said that his video of Mercy has been copyright striked. The video has been up for 2 years without any problem.

Same thing happened to me before the release of the Paris film with a video of Vertigo.

There’s a couple I think have been taken down literary in the last 24 hrs or so. Great news in regards to an official studio release finally. Maybe in the next decade we’ll get All my life.
  4. Aren’t they announcing this week?
  5. I am unsure… if they are announcing this about a 50 days before (like the ATYCLB 20 Year) It would be announced on October 3, 2024. So I guess it will be announced anywhere between right now and October 3
  6. I wonder if we will get any early versions of OOTS.

If you watch at 9:06 you can hear Bono mention the title as early back as 1993.

Gotcha. I just saw that the U2songs discography entry said early September
  8. Isn’t ‘original of the species’ a fairly common phrase in the English language? Not sure if we can take that soundbite as evidence that the song or even the lyric ideas go that far back.
  9. Another cash grab

"Origin of the Species' is a phrase coined by British writer Charles Darwin. 'Original of the Speciies' is a clever wordplay phrase based upon that created by Bono.

Ah I see. Sorry, English is not my first language.
So the lyric or title has at least existed in Bono's mind for a while then, that's interesting. I still wonder whether the melody or song idea goes back that early, but you never know!
  12. I figured it was a translation issue. All good.
