The U2 thing has the publicity of the live shows, they have some name recognition, and it's actually priced cheaper than Postcards. They probably have a pretty good idea of the traffic they'll get the day of the show from last minute ticket sales. If nothings moved by tomorrow night when the doors open then I'd be a little more worried, but I doubt they'll discount the prices.

the preview show looked empty , saw some pics on X
  2. From u2songs

‘One of the interactive exhibit allows people to move around to hear Johnny Cash sing "The Wanderer" and then to hear Bono singing the song by standing in a different location.’

If it’s the full song being sung by Bono I’d like them to release that one day.

I wonder how long this film will be shown. Will people in 2050 still be able to see it once a month?
    I thought about that too
    Spoiler (click to toggle)
(leaving Ultra Violet out of the selection), but since it wasn't really the best live rendition of the song (pretty subpar from bono IMHO) and the filmed nights didn't feature the best screen visuals (a.k.a late 2023 ones), then I believe people aren't really missing a lot from that.
  4. Its moved quite a bit of tickets for tonight's opening - I've been watching all week. In the last 24 hours people have been buying tickets.
  5. The awesome latest Subscribers video of FULL Zoo Station gives me hope that they can still do a Pro-Shot edit of every song to make a full concert video, even if it's cut n paste edit of multiple nights. Just to have an alternate document of it than the Sphere-exclusive version.
Even if just avail streaming as another subscriber gift, or to mark a Sphere anniversary (althou physical copy would be preferable)

It's a good video. Wish Bono had the vocoder effect though.
  7. Yeah but that was a free preview, with admission controlled by U2Com. Unless you were a subscriber, saw the announcement, and got your name in there wasn't an alternate way in (you couldn't buy tickets.) And they chose to limit it. I know people who put their names in and didn't get in. So if it was empty that was by choice.
  8. The subscriber video for Zoo Station is pretty darn awesome! Certainly makes clear a full concert video stream, DVD, subscriber gift or whatever is doable and would be super cool.

I’ll also be “that guy” and just say the contrast to the power and energy of Zoo Station on the recent EP is, well, notably different… Great to get to have access to both though!
  9. I think it's distortion or some other processing, not a vocoder (for a vocoder, listen to verse 2 of Love Is All We Have Left).

Zoo station on the Dublin EP is one of the best versions of the songs. On the flip side I don’t think they are even doing the song justice in the sphere video. Bono’s singing is a difficult listen and the song seems so bare of life and as you say energy. I really hope they choose the songs carefully on the next tour that compliments the new material, which is hopefully more suited to the band today because the list of songs I don’t think they can do justice anymore is probably more than twice as long as the list I think they can.
  11. Zoo Station was fantastic in the Sphere. Amazing opener.

A visual feast with Plato's cave and Church of the Light motif, the return of the "I Could Have Lost/Found You" intro, Edge's guitar chainsawing through Bram's pummeling drumming, supported by Adam's booming bassline, and Bono's Fly attitude made it one of the highlights of the gig. His vocals were on point during the gigs I've seen.
