1. If ever a song pointed a direction that I’d want the band to go in it’s this one. I can’t believe how much I’m enjoying a new u2 song with edge on vocals as well. Would be interesting to hear how a Bono vocal would have sounded just to hear how his voice would work with this style but edge has nailed it.
  2. At first I thought I’d wish Bono was singing it but I like Edge doing it, like Seconds, it has a late 70s/early 80s punk feel to it.
  3. I love this one.
Definitely a Boy or even pre-Boy sound.

It gives me the vibe of one of my favorite songs of that pre-Boy period:
    False Prophet.

Definitely, and some of that Unforgettable Fire melancholy.

I use to have all these pre boy demo’s on cd but lost most of those cd-r’s. Would love to have those recordings again and this just begs to be released in a nice 6 cd/ vinyl box set.
  6. I liked it at the very first listen, and instrumentally speaking it is definitely the direction I'd like the band to take on the next album, but to me there are two "issues".

    1) I liked edge's singing, but I believe it'd work better with bono taking the lead and edge having some big portions, somewhat like in Country Mile
    2) The lyrics/melody are not as catchy as a song like this demands

With those adjustments, I honestly think we'd be easily looking at single/lead single material (and commercial success).
  7. If you would have come some months ago and told me this was a 1978 U2 demo I would have believed you.
Definitely has that feeling of pre Boy song.
    I like it
