1. So i’ve just finished this demo where I take the vocals from Mercy and add them to the stems from LMITW. The original leaked version of Mercy is 125bpm, compared to the new version of Luckiest Man is 126. So I had to match them and place the new vocals in their right place. That wasn’t too hard to do. But the EQ on the vocals of Mercy had no depth to them and sound really thin and boxy. So I’ve tried to make them fit better on the overall mix using plugins etc. I will try again next weekend when I’ll buy and new EQ plugin on the Black Friday sale, the plugin is known for giving you a more transprrent sound, so hopefully I can get it to sound more natural. Fingers crossed.
I will upload a video to YouTube, once I’m pleased with the end results. So all I ask of you is not to share this anywhere on line please. I’m trusting you guy’s 100%. Enjoy.

  2. Video is too large apparently. You can delete this is you want to.
  3. Can someone explain to me why the Luckiest Man In The World isn't called Mercy?
  4. Because Bono hates mercy for whatever reason.
He wants us to believe Mercy came before luckiest man. But that logic doesn’t make sense because they were still tinkering with Mercy in 2010. So is it mercy, then luckiest man, then mercy again? I don’t think so.

Thanks. If luckist is the demo, then it's the live in Brussels from 2010, they spent 6 years trying to write the lyrics to sing
or 6 years to perform it.

I think it would have been mercy first. I’ve never heard of the luckiest man title until now so it’s always been mercy I think which was first leaked in 2004 and only changed now when they went into the studio to do the changes to the song including the new lyrics in places.

So there is a song with two different titles. The Demo 2004 first luckist man, then mercy 2010 Wide awake europe and now 2024 luckist man.

I don’t think that’s right. There was never a luckiest man in the world demo. There was a demo which was essentially mercy because the luckiest man in the world never existed as a title or lyric in the song in 2004. So it was mercy (leaked demo 2004), mercy live in 2010 and now luckiest man in the world. Put simply its always been mercy until now where they’ve for the first time had the lyric ‘luckiest man in the world’ and in using that lyric have changed the title.

The text are different. So in a period of 6 years, from 2004 to 2010, the text was changed again.

    Wide awake in Europe

  10. I know but in 2004 the song was mercy and it was still called mercy in 2010 just with a few changes.
  11. Luckist man is not mercy and vice versa mercy is not luckist man, partly because of the different lyrics and the title. Maybe they were not in agreement about what the song should be called. Because the words luckist man do not appear in the 2010 version by Brüssel. Or
Maybe you didn't like the lyrics of the 2004 version because the 2010 version by Wide in Europe fits better in terms of rhymes.
