1. That was a great night. Were you there the next for "Love Will Tear Us Apart"? Arcade Fire and U2 on stage together...man those were great shows...

I wasn't there for the second show, but I feel like I was since I listened to it a bunch later.

Like many U2 fans, that tour was my introduction to Arcade Fire thanks to "Wake Up". They were amazing live.

Interestingly, I got to see them open for U2 again in Moncton a few years later. By then I was a pretty hardcore AF fan.

I got interested in Arcade Fire when their EP was out, a friend had it on a road trip we made. I remember buying Funeral when it came out, so I was already a fan when they opened in Ottawa and the two in Montreal. Great shows. They were my first shows seeing them. I saw them open in Moncton on 360 as well, as well as the headline show they did here in Halifax a few nights earlier, and a long list of other shows at this point.

One thing I got lucky with was a strong line up of opening acts on Vertigo. Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire, The Bravery, Snow Patrol, Paddy Casey...

I got the short straw and had Kanye West as the opener at my show....
  4. I had Institute. They were basically a Bush cover band lol.
  5. I had Snow Patrol & The Bravery at Manchester 1…and Athlete & Idlewild at Manchester 2.I can’t remember which band that had the generators cut out on them on at least 2 occasions.Couldn’t get going.I always thought it was Athlete, but I’m prepared to be wrong

  6. Came across the photo recently it's looks like they were "In the zone" before they go on stage to 60k people ,It must be a daunting prospect regardless of how many times they've done it playing to that many people and still feeling like they've got something to prove .
  7. Just listenning to Portland 12/19/2004 - fantastic show and great sound in the recording.
  8. We haven’t revisited this in a while but I thought we could talk about each show of the Vertigo Tour. Today is the 20th Anniversary of the December TD Garden show!
  9. I have really fond memories of this leg. I'm going to listen to Instant Karma! right now.
  10. Saw the 3rd leg Pittsburgh. amazing, I was in the front row. I just knew I had to see another show. Tried for Cleveland but couldn’t find any tickets. Pulled up some decent rear stage seats for Detroit 2, so I bought them the day before on a whim.

Pittsburgh was more of the standard setlist. But at Detroit 2 I Got to see Gloria, the ocean, Wild horses, MLK, 1 of only 7 performances of Crumbs, and an awesome version of Bad to close. Loved this tour, saw it 3 times, can’t believe it’s been that long ago:
