  1. Is there a thread for the film? Seems to be getting mixed reviews. Seen 2 stars, 3 stars and 4 stars so far.

    Strictly-for-fans-only. Bono is a charismatic chronicler of his own life, but the self-conscious storytelling concept is a harder thing to stomach for non-enthusiasts.

    There has been plenty of housekeeping since the last note in Berlin in November of 2018. I think that we will see the end of it soon. IMHO, they should just release the 'Sphere' and 'Stories' audio and we can then get to the new stuff.

    At this point we are probably going to get as much U2 legacy (fanclub, RSD, live) as new material working in tandem.

    So there's a backlash to a film about someone talking about their life because that someone is talking about their life - wha?

    How can you not be self-indulgent when the whole purpose of such an exercise is one of self-indulgence?

    He can also be self-effacing, self-deprecating and self-aware!

    It's like people complaining about buying an orange and then after biting into the said orange complaining that's it's too orangey!

    Me? I'll watch it most probably once - like most post Slane concert videos - and then consign it to another viewing much (much) further on down the line

  12. These are neat versions! Can't wait to watch the film. I didn't catch the tour and listened to a bootleg of one of the shows once, so I think it will all be fresh to me.
