Yeh people can be pretentious and 'arty' when choosing black and white as a medium - but it is used to stop the viewer form being distracted and makes them focus more on the subject and subject matter so it is apt for this production i.e it makes you focus on Bono and his storytelling and therefore his stories

It's used in photography for the same reasons i.e you look at the 'story' that the photo is trying to tell you rather than be distracted by colours that lead the eye elsewhere
  2. After a long day, thank you all for your messages of support, you are very much appreciated
  3. By the way, I've seen that the movie has been critically acclaimed, I'm proud
  4. I enjoyed this. I can see why it got some low scoring reviews because it's definitely a film for U2 diehards. I know I gave the black and white choice critisicm but it worked well. I also liked how they merged and edited all the different shots together. I thought the Opera house moment at the end would have more focus than what it got.

Has anyone seen any reviews for the Apple Vision Pro version?
  5. I loved this, what a triumph. My only disappointment was how brief his number at the end was, but I assume it was a decision he made for whatever reason. The dude is in his SIXTIES and singing like an angel. We are so blessed. Never got the pleasure of seeing the show somehow - life just got in the way, but I was lucky enough to see him at the Cheltenham Literary Festival, and his voice was astounding.
  6. Just finished watching this. Superb. Really really enjoyed it. If anything, I thought the black and white made it better. Brilliant performer, great story teller and just like the book, I felt he came across as a very ordinary guy.
  7. Same.Just watched it.Really enjoyed it,he’s become quite the performer. Can’t help but think it’s a love letter to Bob,and he’s still looking for closure nearly 25 years since his passing. He’s still looking for the attention from his Da he craved.Maybe he got it,closure,by performing at Sorrento.Might be just me,but that’s what I took from it

And did anyone notice on the credits at the end : U2 website - Sebastian Clayton…I thought he’d removed himself from that long ago
  8. I think this is absolutely tremendous. It’s an entirely different experience to seeing the show live. It’s entirely unlike a U2 show. I think it’s an utter triumph for those within this circle of hours. I have absolutely zero France of reference as to how anyone outside the U2 sphere would interpret this however.
  9. The I Will Follow part is epic.
  10. Yep. Got goosebumps watching that part again.
  11. First negative. Why the fuck did the editor agree to have Bono narrate over WOWY? Best darn performance of the show and he talks over himself?
