1. We have a new You Too poll, you can vote for this new poll on the frontpage and discuss it in this thread.

The question of this new You Too is:

You Too: What did you think of the Bono: Stories of Surrender film?

    - Loved it
    - Liked it
    - It was OK
    - Didn't enjoy it
    - Haven't watched it
  2. I liked it. Think it got better as it went on. I'll rewatch it again before the year is over.
  3. Liked it. But I would have preferred if they kept to the original "script" of the show, instead of re-editing and moving stuff around. Sometimes the pacing felt a bit rushed, as they were trying to pack in a 2 hour show down to 90 minutes.

I'm a bit biased having seen too many of the shows, and then listened to it a lot while mixing up the recordings.
  4. This isn’t a capture of the show imo. It’s entirely its own thing and 100% made for TV (and specifically Vision Pro). I don’t have Vision Pro but a lot of Bono’s straight to camera pieces are no doubt framed for it. I also imagine a lot of those shots were done in an empty theatre so it does not feel like the show I saw.

    Still a lovely film.

Yep agreed that its not a capture of the show. Which is what I would have preferred! But then again, always have the recordings of the show itself.
  6. 10/10

Thank you again for San Francisco especially. I revisit it often.
  8. I liked it. The start made me really emotional. But I expected him to tell his whole life story on stage (I haven't listened to any Surrender recording and I still have to read the book). But yeah I agree the pacing felt a bit weird sometimes. But it was very nice!
  9. Just watched last night - his voice was the best I've heard for some time. Show was better than I thought it would be.
