1. I think I remember a discussion on this before but couldn’t find the thread

Was at a gig the other night and the usual sea of hands waving phones - people taking selfies - people talking on their phones - and one person playing a game on their phone WTF!

To me, worse than mobile phones are people just talking through the whole f*ckin concert whilst you're trying to listen - why do these morons go to see someone and then just have a conversation ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!!!!

And then there's vapes! A big puff of strawberry smoke hitting your nostrils just as you're enjoying things - yuk!

    Back to phones

I have a couple of ideas:

We all know about those YONDR pouches but this seems to much of a hassle so how's about

    1. Artists offer a video of the gig as a paid download (a percentage off
if you attend the gig) - then there'd be no need to film it on a phone
And let's face it, most concerts are filmed anyway for the big screens anyway

    2. There are stipulated phone sections where you can use your phones - a space on the floor, spaces at each side and a space at the back

    3. You swap your phone for a 'concert' phone which has a maximum storage of 20 photos enough for selfie/s and stuff - and 5/10 minutes of video enough for a couple of songs

Or have we just got to except that the genie is out of the bottle and it ain't gonna go back in so let's all just stop whining
  2. Sorry mate but the genie is well and truly out!!

  3. Just 2 days ago I saw Steven Wilson and prior to concert it was announced that making unauthorised pictures or videos is prohibited at artist’s request. Most people followed the rules and only 2 or 3 times during the whole concert I saw someone taking out their phone just to make one or two pics cause the staff was watching. I must admit it wasn’t a bad idea at all, in that regard the experience was much better than today’s concert norm. In result the only pic I took was this.
  4. I saw John Lydon on his Q&A Tour last June.Security inside the theatre were strict and told people to put their phones away when they were caught. In his own inimitable style,Mr Lydon told the security to ‘..f*ck off, these are my people.Go away you and leave them alone.Go on,f*ck off with you,go away..’ Security left the theatre I got a good video of Anarchy in the UK at the end

Interesting - I know Iron Maiden have issued tweets and statements along a similar line

People either love or hate John - I have always been a fan and even though he can talk shit at times (you know what I mean) I just love his honesty and frankness
