  2. By extension of the song being less than a month old then it is recency bias by default for sure.

    My feelings are my feelings however, and this song makes me feel something. I am not hitting it on repeat either like I would with a new and catchy song (not that there have been many of those in recent times) but this song has gone deeper than skin deep and that has not happened often over the last decade.

    Time will tell. I will say though, if this is the level of song that gets bumped to an EP rather than being retained for the full album then I take this to be a hopeful sign.

    That's a great point -- the fact that it's on an EP rather than being kept for the album is a really good sign for what the quality of the album must be like. It's hard to imagine the album having songs that are better than Tears of Things. If it does, it's possible it could be a top 5 U2 album.
