  1. Both these songs are great songs used for movies.. (Hands that built america also a goodie)
    Hold me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me used on the Val Kilmer Batman Forever
    Elevation used in the Lara Croft Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie..

    Just wanted to see peoples opinions on which was best used, i mean dont get me worng i love both the songs but personally i think Hold me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me might have been better used for Tomb Raider maybe? Its just has a kinda action/spy feel about it too me..

    what are your thoughts?
  2. 4 me it's Elevation The most powerful-jumping-screaming song on the Elevation-tour (ofcourse cause it's named after this song )
    I think it fits great in the action film
    HMTMKS is also a good song but 1 i haven't seen Batman Forever yet...

From what I can remember (it's been a long time since I saw either of these films), HMTMKMKM is used better in Batman Forever, in as much as some of the themes of the music are used during the film. In both movies however, the main song is only used as the credits roll, when most people are leaving. So it gets no exposure.

    In terms of actual use in a film, the most exposure I can think of goes to Goldeneye (but of course they ruined it by letting Tina Turner sing on it). At least it's used at the beginning.

    Well...I don't like Hold Me,Thrill Me,Kiss Me, Kill Me very much and I love Elevation and Hands That Built America,Both are great songs for me.But for me Hold Me,Thrill Me...was better used in Batman than Elevation in Tomb Raider.I don't know if you agree with me,but Hold Me,Thrill Me was made for the Batman movie,while Elevation is a song of All That You Can't Leave Behind and somebody had the idea to put it in Tomb Raider movie.
    And I've never thought about what you said,but I think you're right about Hold Me,Thrill Me...the song fits more with Tomb Raider than Elevation...But I love the Elevation video clip!!
    And Hands That Built America fits very good with Gangs Of New York.I liked very much.

    Sorry for my terrible English...I hope you could understand something...I'm studying to make it better...

  5. Where is Elavaiton on the film?? i just hear the intro (of the tomb raider mix) on the part after the temple fight...is it anywhere else in the movie??
    another cool thing is that on the Elevation tour they actually play the tomb raider mix, including the intro, and not the album version.

    Other members of U2start may know better, but I think HMTMKMKM was a left-over from the Pop sessions, that they then finished off when approached to do a song for Batman. This may mean it was finished and just mixed, i.e no input from the film; or that it was just an idea, in which case the film may have had some bearing on the song. I agree, Elevation was just ripped for the movie then re-mixed.

    As far as I can remember the only other use is the full song during the credits; but who ever watches those
  7. HMTMKMKM was actually from the Zooropa sessions,but they didn't have time to finish it before the album was released.

  9. I thought the live version was great,it left the single version for dead.The single sounded over produced with that string arrangement in it,get rid of the strings and turn up The Edge,if you have a guitarist like Edge why drown him out in the mix.
