1. I love The Slane Version, it's great to view Bono with the flag in his country with his people.

    Emotional For Me

    same here

usually I ignore NYD on bootlegs and DVD's and i usually do on Slane but whenever i stop and watch it i go 'wow Bonos voice is so passionate!'
  3. What about the gig in Poland....on Vertigo tour
    good to me.
but my fav is Denver 2nd night third legs of Joshua Tree Tour
    "Warm Hearts Warm Hearts"

i agree with you 100%. this is a very passionate performance.
  6. Try Daly City 1985-03-08.

Ideal NYD for me, finally. UF high tempo + USA leg-specific-bass (I have NEVER heard the same type of bass on any other tour, including UF Europe - Dortmund etc) + standard UF vocals and guitar + good quality = best NYD for me.

East Rutherford 85 is also quite good, but drums are not as heavy, and there are more background noises, especially on first chorus...

My girlfriend says I am crazy (she has been present while I have been comparing different NYD versions and writing here)
  7. yeah, slane version, especially this part: Say it's true, it's true...
    And we can break through
    Though torn in two
    We can be one.

the way his voice sounds before he sings: ahhh torn in two!
and how he and edge move on from we can be one!!!
  8. Actually, the best version is Dublin 1989-12-31. Period.
  9. Montreal 85-03-27 (upgraded soundboard version)

Central Indiana. Just North of Indy.
  11. I would say slane. There's a huge emotion in that performance.
  12. I love the ZooTV versions of this tune.
As other classics, it was reworked to fit the sound of the tour, and the versions of the third leg had Bono's improvisations (Anaheim, Tempe) or stroke of genius by The Edge (Pittsburgh) that made them sound, if not better than the 80s versions, more original and fresher.
