For me it´s by far the worst Audio of all DVDs.

The most expensive and professional sound-specialist U2 usually order produced total crap.
Wow..not only from the DVD, but also extracted audio is amazing with crystal clear bass and drums. Which is the main reason I think its awesome.

And yeah, Rose Bowl isn't one of my favorites
  2. The audio is ok, but a bit overprocessed. I don't like that they combined two shows together, sometimes in the same song! Just release one show complete. They also shot this show to early in the tour. Originally it was suppose to be closer to the middle/end of the first leg but they cancelled a bunch of shows at the beginning and Chicago was already scheduled for the DVD shoot.
They did a TON of rehearsal prior to both shows that were filmed. Over 2-3 hours each day. It was clear they were not ready to shoot for a DVD at that point.

I think the Pasadena 360 blu ray/dvd is worse than Chicago Vertigo as some of you have also indicated.
  3. I think that the average listener does not notice all of these mixing ideas, I've never seen any problems in the audio, for those who are used to listening to bootlegs, Live in Chicago is the good thing about Vertigo Tour. (even the U2 Live in São Paulo proshot, that have many problems of audio is really good, and made my adolescence)
  4. In my opinion the instruments are mixed with much less of their national arena reverb so it feels a little bit less like a traditional live album.

However, this also came out around the same time I was learning guitar, so I was extremely appreciative of some really clear live recordings that I could pick up little things on!
  5. I am watching this now. Had some time and watched Sydney last night. This was next to it in the pile when I put Sydney back.

    Let’s see.....

Edit - This is entirely the wrong thread but searching on mobile so hey.
  6. I really like this DVD!
    very good energy!
  7. The Boy tracks are outstanding.
  8. I went to three of the four shows. Zoo Station, Electric Co. And An Cat Dubh were highlights.
  9. Chicago DVD has aged quite well. Better than its Milan brother.
  10. I’m up to Streets. A shame they fucked it but even the energy of this drab performance far surpasses anything in recent times.

All very odd watching this. It feels like watching a concert that was filmed for DVD rather than just watching a concert that was just filmed. Or something. Makes sense in my mind.

    I am not hating it.
  11. I miss U2 of that era (Boston, Chicago...) era were Bono running like a runner of 100 !
