1. Just wondering because of the lack of Pop stuff done on the Vertigo tour.I've read that the band doesn't have fond memories of making the album or the tour for that matter so I was wondering if this has something to do with not playing songs like Gone,Last Night on Earth or even a Wake up Dead Man snippet.I know they've snippted Please a few times but that really doesn't cound in my book.I would've loved to hear Gone on this tour just for the fact that Bono's voice is soooooo much stronger on this tour than the Elevation tour.
  2. I don't think they hate it, they tried it though with playing Discotheque two times (they even made new animations and stuff for it, you don't do that if you're planning to play it two times) and rehearsing MOFO a couple of times. Discotheque was great by the way, I absolutely love the Vertigo performances, can't see why they stopped playing it. Would've been great as a POP-encore rotating with the Zoo-encore.

Songs like Last Night On Earth, Discotheque, Mofo, Gone or Please belong all to U2's greatest live songs imho.

    You're kidding right?

His voice is the worst I've ever heard it on this tour - listening to him try and sing WOWY in Milan was painful
  4. couldnt agree more those songs Remy mentioned are some of U2s greatest live songs anyone who went to popmart would tell you that, popmart was l think a much better concert than the vertigo tour or the Elevation one

There isn't any bootleg from the mentioned Toronto show available (there is actually, but those tapers won't share it).
  8. youtube has a video of disco.from vertigo tour. it was a more rockin version then even the remix on the best of...i dont know whats up with the pop stuff. i think it comes down to the audience responce. the early elevation shows that i was at they played disco/into staring at the sun, i remember the audience just not being into it. either they didnt know it or they thought singing "let go, discotheque" to be weird. i think they play the stuff that gets a reaction from the crowd. thats why they arent playing electric co. or the other rare stuff from boy, like they did earlier in the tour. looking back on popmart sets they just didnt flow well. there not easy to listen to. i would say the one song that should come back, and is relevent is "please" i think its one of their best. but bono says in the new book they wont ever play it, because the meaning was changed after 9/11
  9. There are some really great songs on POP and the band will realize that soon enough. They will not go away, mark my words.
  10. Hi everyone. I'm just discovering this beautiful page --and is the one I've dreamed about for years.
Upon the Pop thang, I don't think they hate therecord, but I guess they kinda wish to forget it. Time ago, I saw an interview for MTV, in which Paul Mcguinnes said they got the wrong stategy to release Pop and that was why most of the fans didn't like it. I don't know if it's true that fans don't like Pop, but Macguiness seems to believe it is no good for the sales --I hate to admit, but it also must be something to consider when planning a tour.
  11. pop is the best u2 album. some different. and the popmart tour the best tour of all the times
