  1. It's because they've tried to make it more contemporary by getting younger critics and music figures in to give their opinion. Whereas before with the previous two lists, it was all the well-established journalists and classic musicians who contributed to it - thus it was rammed with 'classic albums'. This new list has Harry Styles, for example. It almost feels like Rolling Stone trying to get 'down with the kids'.
