The recording sessions for No Line On The Horizon started in 2007 in Morocco and continued in the band's own studios in Dublin, before continuing at New York's Platinum Sound Recording Studios and finally being completed and mixed in London's now-defunct Olympic Studios in late 2008.
The Sydney Morning Herald meets up with Bono on the Gold Coast before their first Australian show where Bono reveals the band's plans to record and release a new album in 2007 and ''a collection of singles'' in November with ''two new tracks''.
Eamon Carr of The Irish Herald thinks the first single from the as-yet-untitled album will be called Sexy Boots.

Four new songs dubbed 'the beach clips' which may well be the final songs on the untitled U2 album are recorded on a mobile phone outside Bono's house on Eze Beach and subsequently uploaded to YouTube and other file-sharing sites. Universal Music issues C&D orders and take-down notices, but they continue to be shared privately.
While not attributed directly to Edge, Q Magazine writes ''opion is divided whether the album will make a pre or post-Christmas release''. He also speaks about some of the new material they've been writing and recording, dropping a few titles of those songs including a ''fuck-off rocker'' entitled Breathe.
"I’m glad we’ve got people annoyed. The only thing that could’ve gone wrong is being ignored."

According to an interview from 1982 the song 'October' is about the Bolsheviek revolution in Russia in 1917, that brought Communism to power. This theme is mixed with a personal theme, possibly Bono's mothers death.
