1. I so much like this song. In my book, it is also one of the few that wouldn't need to be re-recorded in the Pop album.

    Anyone else?
  2. I love it - one of my favourite U2 songs ever and what made me get into the Pop album. I can't believe we didn't have a topic for this already!
  3. i'll add my love for this song. Sounds the most 'complete' of all of the Pop songs
  4. It's a highly under-rated song, like many on Pop. Damn, they wrote some genius lyrics in those days. I think this one holds up very well.

    Good choice of thread!
  5. Fantastic little tune.
  6. I like it a lot but prefer 10000 times If God Will Send His Angels, much deeper song in my opinion.
  7. It got balls though.
  8. I am not a fan of Playboy Mansion. If fact, it is up there with Red Light (for me) as one of their worst.

That said, maybe if it were re-visited, re-arranged and re-recorded? To me, they can only improve it.

  9. I really love it. It feels like such a summer jam to me. I love Edge's guitar in it as well. I always picture a video to the song where the guys are hanging around the playboy mansion and Edge is strumming his guitar at poolside.
  10. Took me ten years to finally get into it. It's a great song but the weakest on the album.
  11. nice song, nothing special but i can never understand why its thrown down with Miami as one of U2's worst songs
  12. I really really like Playboy Mansion. I feel it's another one of those songs that should be left well alone on an album and not even attempted live. I just don't think it would work. Unless they completely re-worked it (i.e. acoustic like Staring At The Sun or dancey dancey like Crazy).

Some fantastic lines in the song. If Pop is about consumerism and excess in the 90's then Playboy really encapsulates that feeling.

The only problem is a Big Mac really isn't that big.
