Your tracklist makes good sense. I would personally switch in the OOTS (Killahurtz Casa De Angels Mix) to replace the album version and prefer the album Yahweh.
And as for leaving Crumbs and One Step Closer on but taking All Because of You off??!!??
But there you are...
Originally posted by MattG:Sat for awhile tonight and made this for myself...normally, in doing playlists like these, I'm not a huge fan of subtracting songs from albums, but in this case I decided I would, since it's not like it's for any real purpose other than lesiurely listening. I won't be posting any links since all of this has by now been officially released (except Mercy, which you can find on that thread)...this is purely so that you can perhaps make this playlist for yourself, and see how you enjoy it.
And maybe this topic's completely pointless. But this is the one place on earth I can come where spending a half hour trying to figure out the placement of a solitary track will even make the slightest bit of sense, and sometimes, that security is all I need
How to Reassemble an Atomic Bomb
1. Vertigo
2. Miracle Drug
3. Sometimes You Can't Make it On Your Own
4. Love and Peace or Else
5. City of Blinding Lights
6. Mercy
7. Fast Cars
8. Crumbs From Your Table
9. One Step Closer
10. Smile
11. Original of the Species
12. Yahweh [Alternate Take]
13. Native Son
you'll notice the positions of the songs already on Bomb didn't get shifted whatsoever- I think they're great where they're at. I just added in a few songs from the sessions, and the alternate take of Yahweh, and subtracted the ones I can't stand from Bomb.
The idea of including both Native Son and Vertigo was that so the album sort of completes a sort of cycle...it very much still opens with Bono counting in senseless Spanish, and the ever-so-kick-off "Turn it up loud, captain!", yet also ENDS with the same music, except the definitive Native Son ending with Bono going "Yeahuhuhuhuhuhhuh"
Sorry if this is useless since I can't include links....but give it a try! Create your own. To me, it's U2's most rearrangable album, to be honest. Looking at all of the band's potential tracklists over time, I have to say each one gives the album a new feel, and ultimately impresses me in the end.
