It’s an interesting to hear these outtakes, but this shadow album will be forgotten almost as quickly as SOS.

And even the 2004 version of Mercy ain’t that great, let’s be honest.
Everyone has their own take but to me at least the new songs are worthy additions to the u2 catalogue. Luckiest man and evidence of life would be worthy of a place on any u2 album if it were just about quality rather than thinking of styles. Happiness and country mile i would say the same. Even treason has grown on me a bit. Most songs by most artists aren’t masterpieces but at the very least I’d say most of the songs are good solid tunes and better than anything on SOS by a long way.

who or what is SOS? 😜
  3. SOS? What's that?
  4. The Abba cover Bono and Edge did.
  5. SOS will almost certainly go down as the worst and certainly the most ill-timed addition to the U2 catalog. Reassemble may not measure up to the quality of a full, new U2 album release, but it is definitely worthy of repeated listens and there are at least a few songs that could have (or even should have) had a place on the original Bomb.

SOS has a few song versions that rise to b-side level of quality, but 95% never needed to see the light of day.
  6. SOS imo is the biggest waste of time and energy in any of my favorites bands career.

I have nothing negative to say about reassemble. At least it feels like they tried to make it interesting. It could’ve just been more recycled stuff we already had. I dig it even though I’m not a fan of the actual songs on there beside Mercy.
  7. They had a great opportunity during the COVID blackout years to focus on a new album but they chose not to and we ended up with SOS and all its variants plus U218 singles on Orange vinyl . It's been a weird few years saved only by the Sphere shows

I bet the band had nothing to do with orange vinyl. That's on account of the record company
  9. Yes, it was likely suggested by the record company, but the band still signed off on it.
  10. 2 too many. One of the few times they made the right choice with fast cars imo. Xanax was interesting to hear the origins. But picture is pointless
  11. Don’t forget the Jacknife Lee version of fast cars
