New elements were added to several songs through a three week session in studio in June 2024 to complete these songs for release. The songs with newly recorded elements include “Evidence of Life”, “Luckiest Man in the World”, “Treason”, “Happiness” and “All Because of You 2”. Additionally “Country Mile” has had some additional production completed in 2024 to finish the song.
  2. what’s new with are you gonna wait forever?
  3. Couldn’t make it to my favourite record store until Sunday and was pleasantly surprised (relieved) to find they still had stock. Not sure why I was worried though; they still had copies of Two Hearts, Celebration and Dublin EP.

  4. I paid $90 at Red Eye Records in Sydney
  5. Nuts. That’s like €55!? The Dublin EP is now available for €22.99 in Dublin. Tonnes of Reassemble available at €34.99.
  6. I still don’t get why they didn’t put Native Son on it. It would have been a great opener to the Reassemble album and Picture of You would have made a nice closer, just like on the original album. Shadow album is short enough, so 11 songs with Native Son would still fit on single vinyl. This would also avoid repeating Fast Cars and Picture of You one after the other when you listen to the whole thing on streaming.

  7. It’s actually one of only two songs on Reassemble (another one is Smile) that has been released before in the exact same version as here. Calling it “Re-Assemble edition” then is pure U2 logic, especially when no other songs on Reassemble are labeled that way. Just like changing title of the song “Smile” while leaving music intact.

  8. I put hands with the ATYCLB non album stuff. Means there’s enough for 2 albums of material that didn’t make ATYCLB and HTDAAB. There’s also another albums worth of material from post window in the skies. They’ve released a lot of songs in their career despite some of the gaps that get spoken about.

In general the term "Native" has fallen out of favour in many places and is seen as not-respectful now. Many writing guides in Canada now suggest that the term be avoided completely unless one is of Indigenous ancestry. So that might have caused some second thought if they had considered it.

Yes, there was room on Side B of the album for it, they had room for about another 3.5 minutes on that side. Side A was pretty much at its limit. There would not have been room to move "Picture of You" to the second side however.
  10. As far as Native Son, the title is likely the main reason for exclusion. It’s controversial in a lot of ways. I would suggest reading the book or just read about it.
