1. It's been 18 years since ZooTV exploded onto the live music map, and forever changed the way rock concerts looked, sounded, and were produced. The famous soundcheck/private show from Lakeland, FL had its' birthday just a few hours ago, as it's already the 28th, but the actual show started on the 29th, as 1992 was a leap year. So let's celebrate the birthday of U2's biggest step forward by posting our favorite things about ZooTV, from shows, to specific performances, to gimmicks, to staging.....anything you can think of to honor the Zoo!

    A couple small favorites...

-The 1995-05-22 Milan show: simply stunning
-Versions of "Running to Stand Still"
-Bono's intro, fly-kicking across gigantic tele-screens while smoking
    -Mr. Machphisto.

I'll save some for you guys, too, but that Milan show is probably my favorite ZooTV show of all time, tied withe Dancing ZooTV from Stockholm.

Another small thing I love is that the last show of ZooTV, from Tokyo, had a bootleg cover with a picture of Bono with the devil horns with his back to the camera, standing and facing the other members of the band, as if to say "I must leave you now. This will be our last night together". And indeed it was.

    Happy birthday!!!

  2. What a nights, what a shows.
  3. ah, nice topic. couple of favourites:-

    Desire live from Yankee Stadium.
"What's your vision?", "I have a vision!", "What's your vision?"... "TELEVISION!"

oh and Zoo Station as well, just loved the starting to the ZooTV show.

Really, Desire live from anywhere on the ZooTV tour must have been a nice smack in the face to the crowds...what an awesome-blasted reworking of that song!

oh yeah, I love Desire and that version just took it to another level for me. Tbh, I like any version of Desire but the Zoo TV version is my favourite

I would have to agree. Wish they'd try it like that again...flashing some Zoo memorabilia on the 360° screen, sending the lights into a frenzy...would be a smash!

  7. A great Time of U2!
Love is blindnes what a moment in the Shows!1
  8. With Or Without You has never sounded better, not before and definitely not after this tour.

Great rework too of this song during the last leg, with Lemon elegantly fading into the new version of With Or Without You with the lines "Midnight... is where the day begins"

    goosebumps-moment!

Zoo TV was the best tour there has ever been out there. period. nothing will equal or surpass this tour.
  9. Yes yes yes, the fading of Lemon into WOWY is awesome, I have shivers all around everytime I hear it. And I've heard it a million times, at least.
Those were the days... they truly were fucking genious
  10. No better Zoo around than ZooTV
No better TV around than ZooTV
  11. Bullet The Blue Sky from Dublin, the solo is incredible. Also love Stay from that show too.
  12. What's hysterical is the fact that ZOO TV still cannot legally consume alcohol in my country. LOL
