1. It looks like Aung San Suu Kyi has already been freed, or will be freed soon. Apparently she won't be allowed to make public statements...

But anyway. That's great -- long awaited -- news. For her, for everybody.

And for U2 fans in particular: it'll probably mean we'll get Walk on out of the setlist (with all due respect!!!)
  2. I think that's a win-win situation
  3. She's been released and imprisioned again for a few times now. Not breaking news

But let's hope and pray this time it's for real
  4. read in the news this morning that she is supposed to be released from her home imprisonment around 6pm local time, which should be around noon CET.

these news really make me happy. you can think what you want about U2 and especially Bono going on and on talking about her during every show this tour and making Walk On "her" song and all -- I think we should admit that this way, he has raised our attention to her situation, for the first time or just again for those who already followed the news on her during the past years.

whether it's a release for good or just another bad plan carried out by the military junta to keep that outcome of the "election" *:X ) save, we'll have to wait and see. But for now.... this should be a beautiful day, will the news come today to tell us she is free again
  5. Shes free
  6. No more Walk On
And its good that she is free too

YAY!!!! Thank God, I hate Walk On and the stupid masks.

Hopefully they don't feel the need to keep it because they think it was an audience favourite.

And it's been confirmed that they have released her:

Now get Walk On out of my December setlist!
  8. That's really good news!

But still, why did it took so long?
Why would you lock someone up when that person is trying to make the world a better place? What's the point? It really makes me angry.

I think it's good U2 made a statement about this, otherwise, I would probably never heard about her situation.

About 'walk on': I won't be so sure if U2 will stop playing this song, they could dedicate it to lots of other people (although it's for Aung San Suu Kyi in the first place). But I don't mind actually.
  9. They will lock her up in no time again.

Wouldnt be surprised if that happens before the end of the week.

  10. Very good News!
    Thanks to the Group!
