So went the intro to this brilliant concert I taped off the radio back in 1983 that gave me my first taste of how great U2 was as a live band. That tape died some time last century so I was delighted to find a recording here after joining the site - https://u2start.com/shows/581

Fast forward to today, where I am on holiday in Boston and stumble across The Orpheum theatre where it all took place. Quite satisfying to link this physical place with a show that cemented my belief in the band some 40 years ago.
Bono did a Stories of Surrender performance there as well.
  2. okay guys, let's be real:

U2 now: underrated or overrated band?
  3. dripped a tear thinking about when will be the last time i see this band
  4. 40 years ago today (4th September) since U2 first played in Australia. We’ve only had 6 tours since then but teenage me would never have anticipated that many or such longevity in their career. Four decades of great memories.
  5. definitely underrated. They're such a good band but no one knows it anymore, ish. I'm so happy when I talk about them and they know who they are.
  6. If they had only kept it in the setlist over the years, this song would have been up there with Streets and Bad as one of their all time greatest live songs:

  7. It's true, pop is such an underrated album, it's crazy
