1. Yeah sorry … I should have clarified what period I was referring to.

I guess I really knew G&R from the Illusion Albums.

I also saw them at Eastern Creek here in Sydney ( was a shit fight trying to get home as there was zero public transport to get home without walking a shit tonne to the nearest train station, from memory we walked all the way to Parramatta Station and Axl was a typical asshole arriving 1 and half hours late via helicopter ) so that line up I guess I would call my OG members.

    Why?
Just because he was part of the classic line-up? I can't see the point, honestly.

Their current line-up ist the best, musically, imho.

No there was a chemistry between Adler and the band. His personal habits and life aside he was a big part of that 86/90 sound.

Yeah the Illusion period was probably the high water mark for them. They were bigger than U2 at that point with only those two acts selling out stadiums. I saw them in 92, 93, 10, 11 and 16 with Slash solo in 12. I stumbled upon Slash's son play drums earlier this month in his band "Return to Dust'.

  4. The setlist that GNR are playing now is not varied enough. I actually liked Chinese Democracy and the old tracks seem really tired now. They basically haven't released any substantial new material in 17 years.

They've put out 4 "new" songs over the last 2 years the problem is they are playing to an audience that mainly wants to hear them play the old classics and are stuck in a time warp of 80s and 90s nostalgia. The Record company probably aren't willing to invest in another GnR album after the millions they put into Chinese Democracy which didn't exactly set the world on fire.
